CONSIGNMENT TERMS
Submissions
We will not take walk-in submissions. Please email a digital photograph of the artwork along with full information about the piece to info@postfineart.com. Please include the following: Artist, title, date, media, image size, and a price you hope to net on the sale. Please review the submission guidelines when considering the artwork you have in mind to submit and the price you hope to sell for.
Consignment Agreement
Each piece of artwork will require a signed Consignment Agreement stating the specific parameters of our engagement to represent the sale of your work. This Agreement (a.k.a. “Contract”) is supported by the Consignment Terms.
Ownership
Until the artwork sells; consignor owns and insures his or her artwork.
Pricing
We will work together to find a fair price for your work of art. This price will be stated on your Consignment Agreement along with our rate, your anticipated net, and any acceptable discount you will consider.
Display
Every effort will be made to display your artwork, both in the gallery and online, but we cannot guarantee any specific display placement.
Commission
Post Fine Art’s fee is 30 percent of the original list price OR the difference between an agreed net to the seller and the final sales price after any discounts or negotiations.
Payments
A check will be sent to the Consignor within 30 days of payment in full by the buyer. If applicable, any outstanding expenses requested by Consignor (transportation costs, framing, photography etc.) will be subtracted from the net proceeds prior to payment.
Consignment Period
Length of consignment will be stated on Consignment Agreement (usually 90 – 180 days). If art has not been sold by the end of the consignment period, Post Fine Art will ask Consignor to reclaim the art. If art is not reclaimed within 30 days, a recurring monthly storage and insurance fee of $35 will be charged. There will be no storage or rental fee to have your work in inventory while on consignment.
Insurance
Consignor is advised to maintain insurance on consigned artwork. Insurance coverage by Post Fine Art only covers items against damage caused by an employee while on our premises. Damage by a visitor, natural disaster, or theft is not covered by our insurance.
Fragile Works
Post Fine Art will not take responsibility for glass, ceramics or other breakable consigned artwork.
Transport
Any art moving, delivery service or shipping costs to or from Post Fine Art are the Consignor’s responsibility.
Representation
Post Fine Art respectfully requests the consignor not actively market their artwork contracted for sale with Post Fine Art. Consignor agrees to refer any interest from potential buyers to work directly with Post Fine Art while the Consignment Agreements duration is in effect.
